About Jason Bowld

International headline tours with Pitchshifter and varied studio sessions have helped shape Jason Bowld into one of the most popular, versatile drummers to come out of the U. K.
Known for his dynamic drumming with U.K. rockers Pitchshifter over the last 9 years, Jason Bowld has toured in over 30 countries, and with Pitchshifter has played alongside bands such as Pantera, Slipknot, Incubus, The Deftones, Ozzy Osbourne, The Lost Prophets, Korn, and more!. He has written, performed and produced his critically acclaimed side-project band  - This is Menace (R.I.P. Nov 08') which features over 19 guest vocalists from bands such as Killing Joke, Hundred Reasons, Funeral for a Friend and Fightstar - Jason filled in for Fightstar on their 5 week U.K. tour in October 08 at short notice, learning their entire set in a morning.
He has also proven himself in other genres of music with his versatile style. His playing with EMF guitarist Ian Dench for cult singer Amanda Ghost has earned him respect from U2 and Depeche Mode producers Dave McCracken and Steve Fitzmaurice.  Personal requests from Sony BMG to record drum parts for up and coming bands has further reinforced Jason's efficiency in the studio where he has been known to record drum parts for albums within three days. This positive work ethic is echoed further by other international producers that Jason has worked with such as Machine, Ulrich Wilde, Al Clay and Andy Sneap.
Jason has also performed over Europe alongside other drummers in clinics and drum festivals such as :- Steve Smith, Thomas Lange, Jojo Mayer, Keith Carlock, Zoro, Nicko McBrain and is a contributor for Rhythm magazine.
With this wealth of experience, and a continuing presence in the music industry, Jason has a lot to offer a student in a drum lesson.
His specialist areas include:- His own unique 'Industrial' style of drumming fusing world patterns such as African, Brazillian etc. into Heavy patterns, Double-kick drumming, playing left-handed on a right handed setup, How to play powerfully without injury, Linear patterns, Metal/ Rock (obviously!), drum and bass, structuring drum parts in your band, fill placements, maximizing your practice time, music business advice, click playing.
Above all else, Jason's main approach to teaching is to help you to improve on your musicality and to find your own style.
Jason also offers transcriptions and audio recordings of content learnt in the lesson - this helps you to brush up on your recording skills to make you aware of any weak areas.
