About Rees Bridges

Rees began studying drums at the age of six. A born natural, Reese quickly moved up the ranks to become a drum major in an award winning drum corps. He attended the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and with the assistance of master drum tutor Tim Saxby, he completed his education with distinction in just two years.

In 1994, Rees emerged professionally on the London music scene.  His outstanding talent attracted a myriad of artists vying to work with him. They included such notables as Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, M People, Sugar Babes and Danni Minogue. A few years later, Steve Smith, founder of Dirty Vegas and a drummer himself, recognized in Rees an enormous talent and quickly recruited Rees for his band, Higher Ground. This was his first big break and led to stadium gigs supporting the legendary Paul Weller, one of the fathers of the modern day New Wave sound.

It wasnt long after that that London Records presented Rees with the opportunity to drum for Shy FX & T Power.  Rees played on their live, promotional 2002 album, "Set it Off, " the record that spawned the top 10 single, Shake Ur Body.  Right around the same time, Rees was working with Universal Records recording The Modern's debut album, "Modern Love."  That same year, former band mate Steve Smith once again came calling, this time to fill the drum seat for a new projectDirty Vegas.

After signing to Parlophone (EMI) and Capitol (US label), Dirty Vegas first single, "Days Go By," became a smash hit and skyrocketed the group to a US no.1 on the charts and the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.  By 2004, DV was on their second album and touring the world alongside acts like Tears for Fears, who they joined on a US tour.

Rees became the first European to win the World's Fastest Drummer title in 2006 and later beat his own record the following June at London's "Drummer Live" show.  A few months after securing the title of Worlds Fastest Drummer, Rees began working and touring with the famous Hed Kandi brand, playing live drums alongside Londons top DJ's.
Meanwhile, famed producer Jake Fior contacted Rees to play drums for the new Pete Doherty solo album.  Rees had previously worked and recorded with Fior, Doherty and Wolfman on the single, "For Lovers,"
which entered the top 10, charting at number 7.  So, for Fior, it was a no-brainer to want to utilize Rees unique musical gifts once more.

Rees has written, recorded and tutored for the Sony Pictures film Tamara Drewe in 2010.  In addition, he continues to be a mentor and a touring drummer with Dirty Vegas and The Modern. He is currently writing, arranging and producing studio projects with Fior, Dominic Cooper , E.N.D, Kid Kasio and The Modern.
