I have an extremely varied musical background having been educated at Chetham’s School of Music and gained my music degree at Oxford Brookes University. As well as having drummed for virtually my whole life (hitting saucepans since I was 2!) I also play the piano and I am an accomplished composer/ songwriter of both rock and classical music, allowing me to bring to my drum lessons all of the benefits of a wide range of musical experiences. My work in Oxford schools means I’ve gained particular skills in coaxing total beginners of any age towards their first rhythms on the drums, yet have the wider knowledge to also guide you through any style you want to play: from jazz and funk to latin and odd time grooves. I’m also happy to transcribe any drum parts that you wish to learn, whether you just want to jam along to the Strokes or tackle Zappa’s Black Page! All lessons are taken in the comfort of your own home and I travel to anywhere within Oxford (Summertown, Botley, Kennington, Headington, Marston etc).
